masonracing4912 Posted May 17, 2009 Share Posted May 17, 2009 i have a chance to buy gears and final drive from a gsr. i heard it will help my gearing in my 92 racecar. i run 3rd gear and i am taching 6200rpm. the guy said the differential is junk but the gears and final drive are fine. i dont know much about how it works installing these. can someone school me on this? do i need the differential? thanx for the help. cranny Posted September 30, 2009 Share Posted September 30, 2009 if you just want to change final drives , you need the countershaft and the ring gear off the differential. if you want to change ears as well , easy , all you need is the trees out of the GSR trans , along with the ring gear which will need to go on your diff.
