sbiddle Posted April 1, 2009 Share Posted April 1, 2009 I'm getting metal cracking on the inside of the door jam where the U shaped latch attaches. Mostly on the driver side but also on the pass side too. It's causing the latch to bend out when the door is closed so the door no longer stays flush when closed. Last spring I welded the cracks and ground it down and repainted, but the cracks and deflection have returned. I'm wondering if I have to somehow reinforce the back side of the latch area?
