DebZ Posted July 3, 2003 Share Posted July 3, 2003 Hi, I asked earlier for advice about the 89 civic dx hatchback that we might bid on tonight, ends in about an hour. We drove up to see it, and it is really clean. My husband looked it over, and thought it was good, but there are a few questions, that if we could get answered before we bid, we would really appreciate it. 1. The AT seems to shift fine when upshifting, but downshifted abruptly. 2. When the AT was put in reverse, the engine idled a little rough, this did not happen otherwise. 3. The brake pedal had a bit of travel, and the brakes didn't grab all that well. Otherwise, the car seemed good. Do any of these things seem like a red flag?
