Big..T Posted January 16, 2008 Share Posted January 16, 2008 My immobiliser light continually flashed, so i got another unit and matching key from salvage yard. Now the immobiliser light goes out and the fuelpump primes but it will not start. it is a 98 civic ek 1.4 do any of you have an idea on my solution thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
cranny Posted January 16, 2008 Share Posted January 16, 2008 you need to go to honda and have your keys programmed it sounds like. regardless of the light. the immobiliser box next to the ignition , which i assume is what you replaced along with the key , only reads the keys coding. has nothing to do with the car not starting. the ecu is what keeps the ar from starting and needs the key matched to it in order to start , period. the fuel pump primes even if the immobiliser s not satisfied , just wont do anything after that.
