Oil pan leak

Recommended Posts

Well I guess my valve cover was not the only thing that had stripped bolts. One of the bolts on the oil pan is stripped and it is right by the return line so it leaks like crazy. Now the thread in there is 6*1.00. Can I just do the same thing and drill some out and put a 8*1.25 bolt in there? I just look at that as the easiest way. Do you guys know if they make like a tap extension because the tap isnt going to be able to reach with the oil pan there? Thanks guys

You can just drill it out and they make things you screw in that are basicaly new threads. I use them all the time when rebuilding trannys.

its called a helicoil , lol. just to clear that up. the less items you describe as "things" the better.
