fifty9singlecab
I just put a new clutch in my 88 Prelude 286,000 miles and when I was driving it you could hear a slight knocking sound when you accelerated. It seemed as it did it more about half throttle. As it does this the oil light blinks. It is full of oil, and this wasn't like this before the clutch went out. I bought 10w30 Castrol High mileage oil for it and a new filter, Do I need some oil treatment to add to my oil? Thanks for any help....
cranny
if the oil light is comming on , its prolly a rod bearing knocking.
fifty9singlecab
Is that a hard fix and is it expensive?
Kastigir
If it's a rod bearing, it should be knocking all the time.
Hatch92
is it a knock or a loud tap? like a hard valve tap.
fifty9singlecab
It's like a clank/knock and it does it fast, as you rev up the motor.
cranny
its a rod bearing. if you dont run it anymore , might be a cheap a fix as bearings and a rod , but youl most likely need a crank too. unless its not bad.
