WHERE'S THE POWER AT?

I HAVE A JDM F20A (I GUESS?) MOTOR IN MY ACCORD. WHEN I LOOK ON THE INTERNET FOR THAT MOTOR, IT SAYS IT IS A DOHC AND THE F20 IS THE SOHC. WELL I JUST WENT OUTSIDE TO COMFIRM THAT IT SAYS f20a. ANYWAYS, I HAD IT IN MY PREVIOUS ACCORD AND IT WAS SLOW THEN. I HAVE IT IN MY CAR NOW AND IT STILL IS. I DON'T HAVE THE MOTOR CUZ IT IS SPECIAL BUT CUZ IT WAS THERE WHEN I BLEW THE STOCK ONE. WITH THE STOCK MOTOR, IF YOU ARE STOPPED AND PUNCH IT, IT WILL PEEL OUT. WITH THIS MOTOR WHEN YOU PUNCH IT, IT HESITATES AND THEN GRADUALLY ACCELERATES. IT SUCKS THE AIR IN REAL HARD BUT TAKES A SECOND TO REACT. EVENTUALLY IT FEELS AS STRONG AS A NORMAL ACCORD, BUT GET SMOKED OFF THE LINE. IT IS EMBARRASSING. WHAT'S THE DEAL? ANY IDEAS? IS IT BECAUSE IT HAS DIFFERENT EMISSION COMPONENTS ON IT? THE MOTOR IS IDENTICAL TO STOCK MOTOR IN EVERY WAY BESIDES THE ENGINE NUMBER. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. IT'S GOT A DC SPORTS HEADER AND INTAKE ON IT. DID IT BEFORE THAT THOUGH STILL
