February 24 Street Legal Drag Racing Series FINALE Results

Our dedicated racers and spectators were out in full force for the Street Legal Drag Racing Series Finale. We appreciate and commend them all for making the wise decision to abstain from illegal street racing and bringing it to the track! The evening’s Special Features and Competitions included raffle tickets to all racers and spectators, a Wheelie Contest for motorcycles, a Burnout Contest (both were judged by the spectators), prize money for Fastest on the Property, Best Reaction Time, and a beautiful five foot trophy for Car Club Participation. The evening started out a little slow (due to an oil down in the left lane), but the action picked up by about 9:30 PM. The Motorcycle Wheelie Contest began with a bang (more like a thud) as the very first contestant went down on his way back to the starting line! With the exception for a bruised ego, he was uninjured. Based on spectator applause, Johnny Little came out as the winner and gladly accepted the $100 cash award. The Burnout Contest immediately followed and, as usual, was quite a spectacle for the fans. When the smoke cleared, (literally), it was Greg Casteel taking the top honors and the $300 cash! Following the burnout contest, we rolled right into the Hot Babe Flag Start and (once again) Rachel did a great job! We even had a special flag start guest appearance by one of our spectators! A beauty known only as “Joyce” had a great time & did a great job! Thanks to both of the girls. Most of our racers enjoyed as many runs as they desired, as the spectators huddled around the flaming fire pits. Despite posting a cash award for “Fastest Motorcycle”, no one came forward to claim it!? There were no shortage of import & domestic cars trying to claim the money for Fastest on the Property and Clifton Ragland, from Scottsdale, was not shy about running his import at over 135 MPH. The soft-spoken Chris Beckett from Phoenix claimed the domestic car category (again) by running over 128 MPH all night! A sincere congratulations and $500 cash went to each of them. Once again, Paul Lorton claimed the $200 cash award for Best Reaction Time with a 4-run average of .021! A special thanks to High Output Performance, winner of the Car Club Participation trophy. By the time we wrapped it up, the clock read something around 2:30 AM. Overall, everyone seemed to have a great time! We like to show a sincere appreciation to NAPA Auto Parts for sponsoring this entire series & thanks for the Grand Prizes furnished by: Mod Wheels, TA Performance, Superior Racing Development, Joeta’s Leather, Pro Touch Detail, and NAPA Auto Parts along with raffle prizes from Eagle One, Valvoline, Native New Yorker, Applebee’s Surprise, and Fascinations. Finally, a tip of the hat, and sincere thanks to all of our racers and spectators for participating in this series & rest assured we know we could not have done this without you! Remember; RACE THE STRIP, NOT THE STREET!
