ilovemytruck
Hi everyone. Newbie here - A little about myself, I live in the Florida Keys, and bought a Ridgeline. No modifiacations yet, but I do want different wheels. I have a question for you, my new truck has this weird coating on it which doesn't wash off and leaves tons of swirls all over the truck. I have washed it many times and I have also waxed it with two different waxes. Does anyone know how to get rid of this annoying problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Humphries
its a rubber adhesive to keep paint from chipping off the bottom.. have the dealer look at it and see what they will do if the truck still has warranty. just keep rubbing it off if not. Blown330
Yeah...it's a protective coating. DO NOT rub it off. Find it on most trucks. It's on mine as well along the bottom edge. It's there for a reason, and unless you like chips in your paint, you'll leave it alone.
ilovemytruck
Thanks, for your help, but this protective coating is all over the sides, hood, roof, tailgate, basically all over the truck. In the sun the paint shine looks terrible. It has swirls, and smudges. I just don't like it, it is brand new and should look great. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
