ShiftySamurai
Wouldn't it be easier to integrate a laptop. My laptop goes into hibernation mode automatically when I close the screen and with the battery supply you wouldn't have to worry about the os getting messed up when you turned the car off. Plus mine has 80gig and all the inputs you would need. Really all you would need to hook up a laptop would be a CD player with aux input and a custom mount job. Not sure, depends on how BIG you want the screen to be, I would be happy with a 7.5 touchscreen. A 13-17 inch LCD could be a bit harder to "seamlessly" integrate. The heat could be a problem if you get it mounted to the dashboard too. with a mini-tower you could keep the box in the trunk with all the nice fans running, HOPEFULLY shielded from your subs massive magnets. and run a dual cable for the screen and usb for touchscreen control. There is a site where you can buy all the necessary components... Car Computers! Yeah, vap0r36 beat you to it.
