irishmjm
i have an 1989 prelude si. for some reason the car won't start all the time. when it won't start there is no spark and no fuel pressure. i thought there would be some kind of main relay that may have gone bad, but after talking to some people they said that there is no main relay. a couple of people said it could be the ignitor module, which is external on my car. my question is, if the ignitor was bad why do i get no fuel pressure either? i don't know if somehow they are operated together off the module. i have checked all fuses, ecm, wires, i cant figure this out. if anyone can offer advice i'd really appreciate it. thanks one more thing, i do have spark coming off the ignition coil too, so i've eliminated that as a problem. 93_lude_si
Did you check your distributor cap and rotor make sure there is no cracks or signs of wear. how do you know there is no fuel pressure?
theman0521
They definitely had a main relay it was right next to the fuse box under the dashboard on the driver's side. If this was bad though the check engine light would not come on when you turn it to the run position.
