Okay,straight off the bat,I don't like Imports.I probally will never buy one unless I am in some financial trouble and need a car and an Import is the cheapest.Yet,I want to learn about some stuff.

Okay,can someone explain to me the racing engine stuff.I know the VTEC that comes in the cars are not race engines,they are fuel economy engines.So explain to me the difference ebtween the racing engines you cans wap in.People talk about all these letter engines (i.e b16) and I jsut don't understand.I jsut wanna know what a few of ym friends and all the tuners are tlaking about.

B18A2 swap would be a b series 1.8 liter engine swap. Most swaps are for more displacement and lower compression for boost. But the main thing to focus on is a big nice wing and body kit. and don't forget the 4 12" subs and amps that weigh 250 lbs to help with traction

Actually VTEC is used in racing engines. See RTR Integra Type R and RSX Type-S. Look at all the Honda Challenge H1 guys, they are all VTEC.

Only guys that aren't VTEC are some of the drag racers. They get big cams, grind away the primaries, and use either Phantom Grip or Crane rocker arms. There are a bunch of turbo guys running the Crane Roller rocker cams as well.

No such thing as a B18A2.

I meant 1.6. So whats the point in swapping in an integra engine, lower compression? I mean, is the rotating assembly built better? Or does that get swapped too. My buddy tries to explain but he's more into rims and stickers and crap. I don't think he knows much

Civic = 1.6, either 106, 127, or 160bhp.

Integra = 1.8, either 140, 170, or 195bhp.

The B18B from most Integra's has the same CR as the 106 and 127hp Civic's.

People usually just swap them because of the better torque.

Try searching next time.

No. This stuff is pre-school crap though, it has been beaten to death^18. Go to any Honda forum and they will tell you to search. I also don't feel like telling everyone everything when they aren't even going to get a Civic to fix-up.

Even Ford has a variation of VTEC now.

Hmm, common sense says "engine, VTEC, 1.8, etc."

My car isn't anything special, my driving is.

I don't care what a bolt-on GT can do. I don't drag race.
