scottywayne25 Posted April 18, 2005 Share Posted April 18, 2005 i have a 94 integra gsr 4 door.. one of my friends offered to see me a 16g turbo and side mount intercooler off an eclipse that has been fully rebuilt for 100.00. im not gonna use the intercooler, ill just buy a front mount off ebay..but i was wondering if you allt hink that would be a good move to buy it.. im not gonna be runnin over 5 psi with it anyways and it will spool fast since its smaller. im not gonna change the internals of my b18c just yet.. funds are a lil too low for that.. but yea..just let me know if you think it wil lmake it run pretty good, or if you think i would be makin a good move..thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

scottywayne25 Posted April 19, 2005 Author Share Posted April 19, 2005 yea..its stock internals.. do you all think i will need an intercooler.. well a front mount i mean? the turbo im buyin comes with a side mount but i didnt wanna use that... but someone told me that if i go with a front mount that it will block the radiator and cause it to heat up a lil since its got high compression and a turbo.. i would love to have a front mount but im not sure if its a good choice after that.. thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
BigBirdSucks Posted April 19, 2005 Share Posted April 19, 2005 there right if it is stock internals dont run more than 7 or 8 cause u will blow it wrong. the #1 reason turbo honda motors blow is because of TUNING. you can run about 10 psi on a B18C1 with decent tuning. I'm not talking about a V-AFC or anything like that. I wouldn't venture into a turbo project with only $1000. it'll take a lot more than that to do it right. BigBirdSucks Posted February 2, 2006 Share Posted February 2, 2006 B18 walls can handle about 450whp with GOOD TUNING. the crank can handle more, and the valve train shouldn't have a problem if your cams are stock. edit: also, don't use a block gaurd. they'll hurt your sleeves more than help them. mountaindewguy Posted February 2, 2006 Share Posted February 2, 2006 on the subject of a turbo, if you aren't gonna get it tuned, LIKE YOU SHOULD, unlike some total idiots that posted in here... well, 1 anyways, i would run about 5 or 6, just to spool it good. if you actually tune it on a dyno, run more. as for BBS being full of crap, you might as well keep your mouth shut. you don't have half as much knowledge about hondas or builds as he does. so as far as putting him in his place? no, you didn't even come close. shut up.
