1995 Accord V6

Hey everybody,

 

I have a 95 Accord EX V6 and I was just looking for general info:

 

What engine do I have, and what are some of its potential?

 

Also, what are some of the advantages / disadvantages of having the 6 cylinder over the 4 cylinder? I see a lot of 4 cylinder 95 accords around, and a lot of them are lowered with exhaust, etc, but I don't see any 6 cylinders with after market mods.

 

Basically, which would you prefer to have and why?

the 6 cylinder is from the 87-90 Acura Legend, but has 10 more hp. It has much more power over the 4, but i hear it has a headgasket problem. Tho honda makes bullet proof motors, i think you might be better off with a 4, and if its too slow, do a prelude motor swap, or turbo, or both. If you look at a 95 4 banger and a 95 6 banger, you can see the nose has been extended to fit the bigger motor. otherwise the cars are identical.

I was hoping there would be some more opinions on this forum, so let me try and rephrase my question.

 

Why do I see so many 4 cylinder accords "pimped" out and no 6 cylinders "pimped" out?

 

Is it becuase:

There are many more 4 cylinders out there, so is it just ratio?

there are many more parts for 4 cylinders, and they are cheaper then 6 cylinder parts?

There are more mods you can do to a 4 cylinder, therefore greater potential?

 

 

Anyway, I already have a 6 cylinder, so does anybody know of places to get parts for this engine?

you cannot do jack crap to the V6, speaking from a man of experience, there are a million things you can do to the 4. For the 6, rims, springs, intake, exhaust...unless you know a professional honda tech who can custom build you a turbo or build your V6 (nearly impossible). Like i said, performance wise you cannot do a motherfrackin thing to the 6 , sorry dude
