Kastigir
If you're planning on turboing it, a non VTEC variant is typically easier to tune with boost. You didn't mention a price range, it makes a difference when you're talking about swaps.
Udream4mySol
I couldn't agree more. If you're looking for faster the first place to look is in your bank account. After, and only after, you have a general idea as to how much money you can afford to spend (and trust that it can get very expensive very quick) you have to sit down and realistically decide what your goals are. For example if you have $2000 and your goal is an all-motor, 10-sec car, that would be unrealistic. Next question, who' going to do the work?, if you plan on paying someone else to do it or are you able to do it yourself? Is this your only car? If it is, how long can you go without a car while the work is being done? I'll stop there. As you can see these types of questions could go on for a while. Please don't think that I am trying to discourage you at all, I'm only telling you what I wish someone had told me when I started. The options of what you can do are endless, what isn't endless is the money, time, and knowledge to do it all yourself. If you have any questions, I'll do what I can to answer them. Ooops, I almost forgot. The H22 is a nice swap but makes the front end really heavy, the b18's command a pretty high price tag because everyone wants one, same for the b16's but they are usually less pricey, however the hidden secret is a b20 bottom with a b16 head. It takes some work but you can get an entire b20 setup for next to nothing.

BigBirdSucks
I'd go with a '92-'93 B18A or '94-95 B18B would be good for you, I think. a B20B and B20Z are both from a CRV, but are a bit more pricey than a B18A or B18B.
