almostsane1
First I want to say hello to everyone here. I am new here but I do have a small problem. I changed my front brake pads yesterday but now I think I need to bleed the brakes. I had to loosen the screw by the brake line to push the piston back in. So, that may have been my mistake but I am not sure. The brake pedal is still mushy. If I pump it several times it gets that tight feeling but once I go the mushy pedal comes back. Can anyone give me a simple, easy to understand way to correct this problem? I am not the car kind of guy but am not afraid to work on a car. Thanks in advance for any help. almostsane1
Kastigir
The brakes need bled, pure and simple. Next time DO NOT loosen that screw, instead buy a C-clamp and crank the piston back in. That way you won't have to bleed them next time.
almostsane1
Could you please tell me how to bleed them?
89 beater
you are going to need another person to pump the brakes several times and hold it. when they are holding the pedal down have them let you know and open that scew till the flow slows down. you will see air bubbles come out with the brake fluid. repeat until the pedal gets harder. ***DON'T FORGET TO DO ALL 4 WHEELS***
xxscaxx
repeat until the brake fluid comes out in a steady stream with no bubbles in it.
