You can get a chipped ECU...you can set your rev limiter anywhere you want.

OR

You can get a VTEC ECU like a GSR or Type R and that will solve your problems as well. Just make sure you've got the right OBD.

Peace

Get good rod bolts (ARP) and the bottom end is good for 10,500 RPM max.

Would I trust the stock rods no, but they will work for a few times at that high of an RPM.

It really isn't worth it.

Heads don't blow. The B series VTEC heads can hold 8,500 RPM for 24 hours +/-.

If he did throw a rod, it would go through the block. I've never seen a Honda shoot a piston through the head.

its really hard to throw a rod through the block, my friend threw a rod in his type r and only required resleaving and one new rod, and one new piston, or at least thats what he told me

Wow, that kinda validates my friends story. He said he was driving through montana at like 6500 rpms for about 13 hours straight. Didn't overheat or anything. He has a 92 HB Si.

What does your bottom end have to do with anything???? If you buy new pistons and rods it doesn't change your redline. I could have built my head on my d16z6 I had and i could have rev'd to 9000 rpm's no problem on my stock bottom end.

A different ecu can raise your redline but you better make sure if you have a stock head even with the new ecu not to go much over what your rev limiter was at before so you dont float your valves!!!

a CRV block can't rev to the RPMs the B18C5 head needs to make peak HP. a VTEC block is built to rev high, a non-VTEC block is not. therefore, you need to build up the block to have a reliable setup.
