optional187
you spent 13 dollars for just one spark plug? you need to research a lot, from the sound of it you don't know what you're talking about. its pretty pointless to do a lot to a d15, but its your car. if it were me, i'd just save that money and put it into a swap...if you're serious about doing the swap that is. stuckmofo
I'd learn more. In the meantime, get a cam and don't type in orange. hahaha anyway type r s have high compressions compared to the regular engine in that series...so i wouldn't get a turbo

typeR sleeper
well why do you say i dont know what im talking about? i work at a auto parts store, i get most of my discounts thereand i buy there. ibought my aem short ram for 70$ regular price is about what ? 150$? my spark plugs the cost not 13$ not 17$ but 9$ a plug, not bad for 4 spark plugs that can add some horses to your car. ill be posting some of my pics soon. but my future plans for this car and its motor is. hedders, exhaust 21/2 inch, a bigger radiator, maybe performance chips if they have any for my engine, in the end i want to get a turbo for it. my future plans is to swap a typeR engine and full tranny into my hatch with an orange pain job, front and back bumper lips, some nice side skirts, drop it and inch all around. ill be the happiest lil kid in the world. some one give me some tips please, i want to be serious about this im not joking. fill me in on some info thanx

Slowtegra
not trying to be a weiner, but spark plugs arent really going to make a difference especially in a D. and you should have just bough a generic intake for like $25 or $30 it would have done the same exact thing. optional187
$150 for a short ram? you guys are ripping people off. $9 a plug? i paid something like 3 bucks a plug for ngk bpr6's for my car and get the same performance that you get.

Mercutio
Search for B20/VTEC. It's a decent swap, but you have to have the VTEC solenoids bored into the B20 block and then match a good GSR or ITR head to it. Overall, it gives better boost due to a higher displacement and a lower compression, but it will only last you between 20-50,000 miles on average without needing some more work. Didn't we have a thread laying around here somewhere all about that? I can't find it...
..SSR..
1. I helped you already. 2. B20 is a ODHC non-VTEC with 140hp. 3. The VTEC solenoid is on the head, not the block. 4. It will last however long it does before a rebuild, and almost all Honda engine last over 200,000 if taken care of.
S14Silvia
if taken care of thats the key, the b20 wasnt meant to rev to 8k and it wasnt meant to deal with vtec. however, if built well, it should last every bit as long as a normal b20 assuming you dont beat the crap out of it and rev it to redline every chance you get
..SSR..
A B20 will last. A B20/VTEC will last.
typeR sleeper
so your telling me to get a b20/vtec motor swap.. whats the average price of those? so i shouldnt do a crv swap? some buddies of mine were saying that, that would be a pretty good one some tell me just to drop a gsr in there and keep it a secret i dont know what are some sites i could go to for that kind of stuff? let me know thanx

I can't find it... there's only one VTEC solenoid. you have to build the bottom end up and plug the oil passage in the head. then you have to run an external oil line. I'll see if I can find the old pics when my engine was out of the car.
..SSR..
No, just keep your stock engine. You aren't going to be racing so don't waste a good engine.
S14Silvia
if you're set on doing a motor swap, and want the most n/a power available do the b20/vtec.. however, if you want a hassle free swap do the b18c1 or b18c5. and ssr, swaps arent just for racing, their for jdm cool people like me haha
