Mitsubishi Problems...

So, have all you been tracking what's happening over at Mitsubishi?

Basically, Dailmer-Chrysler had decided not to bailout Mitsubishi Motors out of it's slump and has pretty much pulled all support for the brand. Mitsubishi had been hit with scandal of covering up car defects and lost big time on low-interest rate loans that went default in the U.S. It has been said that Mitsubishi is the only Japanese auto manufacturer to be losing money. Now that Dailmer-Chrysler is pretty much pulling out, many are speculating that the brand is going to die out. Then again, before Dailmer-Chrysler decided to pull out of Mitsu, both companies were to build the next new or replacement Neon. As well as a new 4 cylinder engine. How this all works out in the end will be interesting to see...

i like eclipse. i liked the generation that came out before the generation with the big ass. i have heard mitsubishi cars fall apart after a few years or so but I do not know for sure.

just a fyi: did you guys know jackie chan has a contract with mitsubishi? notice the only cars in his movies (even the ones that aren't played in US theatres) are all mitsubishi. he did one movie about racing..BAD ASS MOVIE!! it was all mitsubishi.

Had a couple friends who had the 1g eclipse. They liked it overall, but always bitched and complained about problems.

Friend currently has a 2g eclipse, it has been in sitting in his garage for the past couple months, tho.

3g eclipse is a heavy car that is pretty much crap, IMO.

got a title to that jackie chan movie? is it subtitled?

yeah, most mitsubishi's are crap. 2g eclipse's seem to hold up pretty well, besides the whole crankwalk rumor turned horror story and the door handles always breaking. 1g's have realibility problems, but all of them are over ten years old...what do you expect? the new evo is the only car thats halfway worth it in mitsubishi's current line-up, and its overpriced in my opinion.

not sure if i've said it on this forum before or not...but mitsubishi should take the evo's 4g63 and awd system and put it into a car that has good styling like the 3000gt or 2g eclipse. until then, they are doomed for bankruptcy.

haha the funny thing is that theres a 16 yr. old girl at my school with a 2g Eclipse. Its actually not that bad, she seems to know a decent amount about cars. I'll try and get a pic of the car, and her
