PSA: 2013 accord unlocked with keyfob and alarm still going off? Set "Key And Remote Unlock Mode" to "Driver Door" ONLY!

TLDR: If your alarm is going off when unlocking with the keyfob and won't start, go into the vehicle settings and set "Key And Remote Unlock Mode" to "Driver Door" ONLY! It's your aftermarket alarm causing the issue. You can change this setting either on the center control screen or on the screen in the gauge cluster. You do need to be in the run position or position "II" or the vehicle settings will be greyed out.

2013 Accord here and I nearly stranded myself in a parking lot for nearly an hour figuring out why the car wasn't starting and the alarm kept going off when I pressed unlock with the keyfob and pulling on the driver door would trigger the alarm. What's weird is that unlocking the other doors wouldn't trigger the alarm it was just the driver door that would trigger the alarm. I thought it was me using the manual key in the door so I tried using the key in the door and locking and unlocking that way but that didn't fix things. I also tried locking and unlocking with the fob and opening the door but that would trigger the alarm. Same thing when just unlocking and then attempting to start the car as the alarm would go off. I was thinking of disconnecting and reconnecting the battery but I realized I didn't have the tools with me to be able to do that. After a bunch of fussing, it turns out that the car came with an aftermarket alarm system that doesn't seem to disable correctly when the option "Key And Remote Unlock Mode" is set to "All Doors". I know this because there is a flashing blue light under the dash when I press unlock as well as the fact that the car doesn't make a few short chirping/honking noises to indicate that it is disabled. But if I set the setting "Key And Remote Unlock Mode" to "Driver Door" only, I get the few chirps and the blue light underneath the steering wheel isn't flashing anymore and opening the driver door doesn't cause the alarm to go off as well as starting the car wouldn't trigger the alarm. I thought it was a harmless setting to change as I have it changed in other cars in the past without this issue and I did it in a friends car because they asked if it was possible to do. At first, we had it started and changed the setting and it seemed to work initially but then after locking and trying to unlock, we noticed this issue and after about an hour, switching the setting back worked.

In any case, I hoped this helped somebody or will help somebody down the road. If anybody is curious as to what the blue light I am referring to is, it looks like this and is under the steering wheel and also kind of looks like this but was mounted flat and not upward facing. It seems like a flaw to me that this security system isn't designed to work with the "All Doors" unlock setting enabled but I guess that's what happens when you let the dealer install an aftermarket alarm system.
