Turboing an Si

Hi, I'm new to these forums and I own a '94 del Sol Si Auto. I was wondering what would be a good turbo to put on the stock engine. I found a website and there's a few Turbo's but the one I'm thinking of putting on the car is the last one and running it at 7 PSI.

del Sol Turbo Kits

First off, I know the car is automatic, I don't need to be reminded about that. I just want to make it faster without doing a auto to manual swap. I do plan on purchasing a SOHC VTEC del Sol later on, but for now this is my project car.

Which Turbo kit would work best on an AT del Sol Si on the stock engine?

Could do around 7-8psi on stock internals. Some have pushed 10psi, but that's being very careful. Being an auto, it won't last long if you are always gunning it. Could always go for a tranny cooler, but that's just delaying the inevitable. In general, Honda autos don't hold up well against any kind of influx of power, especially turbos. But, people still do it...anyhow, I've been happy with the GReddy, street legal stickers, decent gains. Altho it isn't as complete of a "turbo kit" as others, you got to realize the auto will limit a lot with what you can do. You won't be able to extract the bigger gains seen out of other kits because you'll be spending to much money watching your auto tranny turn to soup.

The Si is an SOHC VTEC. It's the VTEC that's DOHC VTEC.

The del Sol Si came with a D16Z6 or Y8. That's a SOHC VTEC engine.

The del Sol VTEC came with a B16...the infamous DOHC VTEC engine.

Other than that, there isn't much of a difference between the Si and VTEC. Other than different sized sway bars and color options.
