If he knew how to drive he could have done another 180 and whipped it all the way around and went about his business. I guess I can't talk because I've wrecked two cars but at least I know what I should have done and what I did do was something different. It's all good now. I can haul at about 75 through my subdivision in the M and just hug the curves like it's my job! Yeah anyways, that sucks! I would've been scared crapless as well I'm sure!

I had a similar experience in my old POS Escort in the snow. I was on my way home from work and it was snowing pretty good and the plow trucks hadn't been out yet. I was on a six lane road, in the second lane with hardly anyone around except at the approaching intersection. The light that was turning to yellow and I started to back off the gas and tap the brakes gently to slow down a little.

My Escort didn't have ABS so I was avoiding sliding or spinning. Well that didn't work and next thing I knew I was seeing the curb and trees sweep by and I knew I was spinning. So I stepped on the gas a little and ended up turning the wheel in the opposite way I was going and pulled the car out of the 180 almost into a 360. I ended up near the curb lane at an angle about a car length into the intersection.

I was about one car length from hitting the other car going through the other part of the intersection. He was still stopped at the light cause he had seen me start to spin. The wierd thing was that my car was FWD and I spun like a RWD car - must have been a layer of ice or something to make my car spin. And I was only traveling 30 - 35 mph and it was under the posted speed limit. Oh well.

i've had me rear wheels step out on an off-ramp when it was damp back when i first got my car. i didnt even realize what was happening until after it happened and after i corrected and came out of the slide, sitting at the red light at the end of the off ramp. haven't really had any other near accidents or anything like that with the eclipse. i did slide the civic off the road into a road sign, but that was my fault and if i knew how to drive back then like i do now it wouldn't have happened.
