PrototypeRacer
I know its possible to get a BAR sticker with a JDM motor out here in CA. But as I explore the forums, I see numerous people with setups such as a 98 JDM b18c (OBD2), and using OBD1 emissions equipment in their eg. I thought it was not possible to mix the two different OBD systems. How is this accomplished?
..SSR..
For it to be legal, you have to have a USDM ECU from the same year or newer. USDM emissions stuff (manifolds, etc), and the engine has to be the same year or newer as your car. Call your local DMV or Smog ref and ask them. I don't know for sure. PrototypeRacer
I am aware of that. I'm concerned about the mixture of the different OBD systems. I thought it was impossible to use a OBD1 ecu with an OBD2 engine. How do you mix the different systems successfully? Sorry I wasn't very specific above.
