2002 Accord V6 - Replace Transmission, Sell or Take My Chances?

I'm the orignal owner of a 2002 Accord V6 EX-L sedan with 138,000 miles. My transmission started hesitating during shifts between 2nd and 3rd around 115,000 miles in 2011. The problem continues, and is often more pronounced these 23K miles later. My shop recommends replacing the transmission for $3,500 before it completely goes out, or taking this opportunity to sell the car for around $4,500 right now while it's still operational.

 

I'm sure many of you have the same vehicle with similar circumstances, and I'd apreciate your perspective:

1) Replace transmission

2) Sell the vehicle while it's still running

3) Take my chances and drive it "till it drops"
