Reset your computer system. Resetting your civic's onboard computer system can sometimes fix a programming issue and return your transmission to working order. Adjust or replace your throttle cables. The problem may lie with a faulty throttle cable preventing timely shifting or any shifting at all.

And if all fails a b7 transmission will run you $50 for a used and functional one off of your local craigslist. People have them sitting around under workbenches all over the place.

shifted b4 the crankshaft change. computer is fine recently replaced. checked cables good. when putting trannie and engine back together it fell together a little hard. could it b misaligned or could i have damaged torque converter when put together. it shifted b4 but at high rpm now dont want to shift past 2 but dont want to push it hard. also willing to change over to stick but have no welding tools for the mounts if i have to change locations from a24a to m24a

Mounts will not change in conversion from AT to MT

Sorry I don't have more for you. Of my 9 Hondas owned all but one were MT and the one AT never failed on me so I never worked on it.

so would the tc cause the issues im having? i dont want to replace it to find out it is something else. it has been one thing after the next with this thing and now i have a rebuilt engine that is tuned up properly and runs like new (brakes could use another once over prob mast cyl) except for the trannie. dont think my condo association would like an engine boom in the parking lot
