Proletariate
Hi there I have a 1990 civic base 1.5l hatchback, that recently stalled out on me. The next day I went to start the car it started and ran until it got warm. Once warm it idled rough for a minute or so and then stalled out, and refused to start up again. After reading some faqs I checked the main relay. The relay was good and I can hear the fuel pump kick on when I turn the key half way. I read some more faqs and then decided to replace the ignition coil. I now believe my problem is either the ignitor or the distributor cap and rotor. When looking for a cap and rotor replacement I see different sized rotors. Mine is rectangular shaped with rounded ends. Most of the rotors I see for sale online are circular. ANy and all insight would be very helpful. Thanks
Proletariate
On a related note upon inspecting my cap the points are very grey and warn. Would this be enough to not give spark to the spark wires? (Sorry if terminology is off I am new to this.)
