98 civic ex full B18C swap... Maybe ecu trouble? Advice

Hi I have 1998 civic ex with a B18c jdm swap. It has a lot of performance mods but runs like its sitting still. I bought the civic already swapped. The car is at my buddies shop right now or I would go pull the ecu now. I'm thinking that he left the stock ecu in it which would be a P2P correct me if I'm wrong.. Does this sound like what could be majorly effecting the performance of my civic? And if so should i buy a P72 ecu or a P73 ecu? Please I need some answers and advice thanks a lot.

I actually had a similar problem when swapping my b16 a2. I was using a p30 ecu and it would start then stall when i gased it. So i bought an ecu for the SI and had other things tuned and it ran just fine. I suggest you change the ecu and try from there.
