Samantha Epiha
i have just brought a 1995 honda civic with 200+ ks, Problem number 1 - it was overheating so i checked for leaks but there was none so i flushed the radiator and it still overheated, i went to a mechanic who said it was his educated guess that i need to change the head gasket so i did and it still over heated, ''the radiator fan goes'', so i sought out a different mechanic and he advised me to change the radiator, which i have just done and it still over heats, i am out of ideas HELP please, it would last about half an hour at about 70-100 ks from cold, and the temp gauge will be on half way but when i pop the hood the radiators really hot and so is the hose to the head and the bottom hose from the radiator, i also felt a hose that goes to the air filter system that was really hot as well....annoyed Problem number 2 - after i changed the head gasket the car lost power on the take off, i would push the accelleration pedal down and it would not move for about 5 secoonds and then it will move, could someone help please
Jeff Collision
It sounds like you might have a cracked cylinder head. One of the first signs of a cracked cylinder head is a mysterious loss of coolant. The loss is mysterious, because leaks under the parked car are not evident, yet the coolant reservoir is low. This condition can also mean a leaking head gasket, and you can do a pressure test to confirm the suspicion. When too much coolant is lost, the vehicle will overheat. Although overheating can be caused by a number of other factors, they can be easily diagnosed by searching for visible leaks. When a car overheats without obvious reason, the vehicle should be checked for a possible head gasket problem. It is overheating that will turn a leaking head gasket onto a full-blown cracked cylinder head. dv1989
