James Matteu
The tranny needs a repair. If it was the clutch the problem would occur at each gear. There is some info on what to do in the Helms and on YouTube, this is beyond the Haynes. It's not a job for a beginner or even some experienced people: your tranny needs a rebuild of sorts (not everything is crap, so it would just be a matter of replacing the damaged gears and the those brass rings that line up to the syncro. James Matteu
Nope. I do all my own work so for me it would be the cost of the gears, rings, bearings, and seals. As such, I have no idea what someone would charge. I do know you wouldn't want someone rushing through it.
