Xeryon Posted July 30, 2012 Share Posted July 30, 2012 Unless you are in a country other then the USA, or someone played oddball motor swap from an HX, you don't have a y5 in your 97 Civic EX. Your default 1997 USDM Civic EX is a y8, in which case installing a y7 (even if rebuilt) is a big step backwards in performance. You might want to take some engine cleaner to that stamping on the block and make sure that 5 isn't actually an 8. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
