Rebablynch Posted July 22, 2012 Share Posted July 22, 2012 I was driving down the road when suddenly my 1997 Honda Civic-automatic started lurching, the rpm's were going wild, and the engine light came on. I pulled over immediately. I turned the car off and back on and the rpm's soared to 4/5 in park. Does it sound like my engine is shot or worth looking into repairs? DerekRed Posted August 3, 2012 Share Posted August 3, 2012 Sounds like a Vacuum leakage or maybe your pcv valve. Id start with buying a pcv valve and replacing it. Pcv valves only like 5$ and if the problem still consists its a vaccum leak and youl need to get new vacuum hoses. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
