blazeilly024 Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 hey guys, I've got a problem with this 2000 accord 4 cyl vtec. The engine was just replaced in it. I seriously doubt that has anything to do with the problem but I was just sayin. Anyway the motor won't rev up above 4000 rpms. Its definitely hittin the rev limiter but why is my question. I have all the specs and information if anyone needs. I'm open to all sugestions and would appreciate any knowledge and help anyone has to offer thanks.
Raley Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 what check engine lights do you have? if it stops at 4k that means its in limp mode...
blazeilly024 Posted September 5, 2011 Author Posted September 5, 2011 currently there are no dtc's. They had taken it to a mechanic and he had cleared the codes. They said he pulled a vtec code but I haven't seen this for myself yet.
Raley Posted September 5, 2011 Posted September 5, 2011 well, its in limp mode because of some code.... can't tell you anything till i know that code...
blazeilly024 Posted September 6, 2011 Author Posted September 6, 2011 What does limp mode mean. Why does it go into limp mode and how can I fix this?
Raley Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 Limp mode is a setting on the ecu that limits the motor so it wont break. Fix it by fixing the code.
