Plus, if you've found another one, it's unlikely to be a rattler- they're highly territorial. It's probably a copperhead. DelSolSweetie
im with lexi.. the lack of a rattle would mean not a rattle snake (at least i cant SEE a rattle.. it is a tiny snake though) you guys have three kinds of venoumous snakes http://www.dnr.state...85/Default.aspx bottom of the page in the link goes to more specific info on each on.. lexi named all three actually lol but im going to agree with the copper head reminds me to get some more snake away stuff for our fence.. we have a pond in the next lot/parcel/land thing next to our house.. havent seen a snake yet and i dont want to Edited May 6, 2010 by DelSolSweetie
SavingStrangers
we dont have snakes here... well not in the suburbs but if you go to some of the more desert parts like Perris or something im there are cause people are allowed to have guns there but mostly cause of coyotes....its weird how in states where you are allowed to have guns people use them for good such as killing dangerous animals.... give a guy a gun here he'll freaking try to rob an atm machine... lol
DelSolSweetie
how can you rob an atm machine with a gun? i dont think the atm gives a damn if you have a gun we are allowed to have whatever in SC.. so many people hunt and what not its hard to say no to guns

They take in moisture through their skin, as well as drinking it, and using it to cool off and regulate their body temp. It could be a northern water snake though... which isn't venomous and is common throughout ohio. as for sarah's hognose comment, I'm pretty certain hognoses aren't venomous- they tend to play dead when they're threatened. Ben.
Another three snakes down today. Three water mocassins, actually. They're always fun to find, at least before the sun is out and they've warmed up and got spunky. Gotta' love Florida. Killed a couple of pygmy rattlesnakes last week. Not allowed to take photos on the jobsite.. seeing as I'm not technically supposed to have a camera phone..
