I'm trying to get it done since I need to pass inspection ASAP, already expired. Mechanic told me he can't get an aftermarket catalytic converter for my car...making it sound like there are not aftermarket cat converters for 2002 Civic Si...? Is this true? He's saying my only option is to get the part directly from Honda, with labor it would cost me $1250 and I can't really afford that right now. I don't know a whole lot about cars and I'm female...don't want to get ripped off. Am I going to have to spend $1250 or are there any other options besides driving around and risking a ticket for expired inspection? Is there an aftermarket cat converter for my car?
