Liwei
Hi all, It's almost time for the 60K service for my 2006 Honda Accord Lx coupe 5-speed manual From the Honda dealer, I was quoted: 60K service: 239$ Transmission: 69.95$ Power steering: 110.95$ Fuel Injection 139.95$ I'm wondering what is included in the 60K service; are the transmission, power steering, and fuel injection necessary? are the prices they quote me reasonable? on a separate note, my oil life indicator never drops below 40% by the time I put 5,000 miles on my car. Should I get oil changes according to the oil life indicator or I should do it every 5,000 miles? Thank you for your help!
Turtlehead
The 60K service for your car should be engine and transmission fluids, flush brake fluids, inspect the car for safety issues/wear issues (not a true state inspection), replace engine air filter, replace cabin air filter. That is basically it. $239 is a good price for that service from a dealer. I do not know why they would have given you a separate price for the transmission fluid. Typically we flush the power steering fluid every 100k and that is not part of a major service. As far as cleaning the fuel injection goes, unless you are having an issue related to the injection system I would say it is not necessary.
