it all depends on what you want out of the car :D. why use royal purple or amsoil in a beater car that is bound to die anyways? then again why use autozone brand in a auto x car? kinda self explanatory lol. but your right

Depends on what is in the Autozone brand. Lot of cheap oils that use older formulations that actually work better than some new oils. If you read that article you'd know that newer != better. There are people running SuperTech on modest intervals because it's additive package is pretty good and takes an old fashioned approach so to say. People don't realize that the EPA is forcing oil companies to strip out much of the good stuff to meet emissions standards. Some of the best oils is stuff most of you have never heard made by very small companies. Racing stuff so it doesn't have to meet emissions crap.

It's truly overkill to run $15 a liter oil in a mild street motor. Just run a well known, API SH rated oil in your car and change it often, and you'll never have an oil related failure. Changing it OFTEN, with the filter, is the key. Running any oil or filter too long will cause problems. If you change it at least as often as Honda states in the OM, you'll be fine. If you are running hard or hot often, or drag racing, then change it twice as often. Use common sense and your oil will not be the limiting factor in the life of your engine.
