the b20 block will help out with that whole torque thing. however to spin it up reliably into the higher RPMs that the b16 head will like to play it you will have to put a good amount of money into it.

i would go with the b20 motor run it for a while, and save up some money or start getting parts together for the bottom end. then when you have everything you can do all the bottom end work and cr/vtec conversion all at once.

however, if you want to do it cheaply then stick with the b18 block....put one thing to keep in mind. if you go cheap expect to rebuild it or replace it soon. you got to pay to play my friend

you can slap your b16 head on a b20 , spin it to 8000 rpm no problem , and make at least 160 wheel tuned. more if you get one of the higher compression b20's with the flat top pistons.

be prepared to resleeve the block when you start modding it.. especially if you want boost..

b20s tend to crack under boost.. id just resleeve asap.. get the b20 build the bottom end and do some valves, valve springs, and retainers to the b16 head put it all together, get it running, and tune it and have a quick reliable CRVtec
