MChester
After getting nice new plush black floor mats.... my OEM carpet looks a bit old and thin. Not in bad shape, but just looking like it's, well, 12 years old... Anybody had good or particularly bad experience with any aftermarket carpet suppliers? ducttape2334
i bought the my carpet from them. i havent gotten around to installing it yet but its a very nice quality and much thicker then the stock one. the carpet is oversized on all sides by a couple of inches so you have room to play with. shipping was quick and transaction was painless using paypal. I would highly recommend using them. i also bought the matching floor mats and they are a perfect fit as well.

It's decided then. Thanks for confirming what I had sort of dediced after hours of reading the various offerings. Should've asked you all first. EDIT: Carpet ordered. Thanks again. MChester
EDIT: Carpet ordered. Thanks again. I can now confirm the Stockinteriors.com carpet is indeed worth the investment. There was an issue with a mis-shipped Cadillac Cimmaron carpet first, but they took care of that right away with no fuss at all. I ordered the heavy pile carpet with the molded rubber backing. This made installation a BIT more time consuming due to the relative inflexibility of the rubber backing. Might have been easier if it had been warmer in my garage. It took me a good 6 hours to install the new carpet including some jute sound deadening for the rear bulkhead. One tricky spot is the side sills. They must be CAREFULLY removed from the old carpet along with the stiffener under the sill. AFTER the carpet is installed and trimmed, you must punch holes in the new carpet in the appropriate spots using the pins on the under side of the sill as a pattern. It's not so difficult, but it takes a lot of patience. The difference in appearance, plush feel under your feet, and especially sound deadening is awesome. I also got to check out all the sheet metal under the carpet and was very happy to find no rust.
project94s
glad to hear no rust. im kinda nervous about pulling mine, the leaking targa seals leave concern of previous standing water in the floor pan cuz my carpet looks a little rotted near the fuel door release and what not....neway would you happen to have any pics of the new carpet installation? cuz the company is sounding pretty good at this point and im considering an order myself. thanks.
