93egcx
I had just replaced my rear shocks on my 93 civic hatch. They were squeaking really bad so I just went ahead and replaced them because I thought that they where blown. So i got a set of kyb gr2. Front and Rear. But I installed the rears and the same one squeaks. My right rear. Could it be the bushin or what. Could that shock go bad within a couple of hours of drivin it. Cuz ive been reading and people said they just lubed the shock or something of that short. I really and curious. But the shocks have lifetime warranty but I dont want to get an exchange everryday. So if anyone can help me i would appreiciate it
Joe W
It's probably your trailing arm bushing. Unless you changed it out, its the original and is probably shredded because of age. Order a new one from honda, recommend doing both sides while you're at it. Great OEM Honda Website Your other option is the EnergySuspension bushings, they are cheaper like $30, however they are a pain to install. I installed them on my current project, and the amount I saved wasn't worth the headache.
Xeryon
Before you replace anything get a tube of chassis lube and squeeze into each bushing around your shock and the lower control arm one at a time. You will not be able to lubricate the main trailing arm bushing because of how it is pressed in, but all the other bushing you should be able to grease. Drive the car between lubrications to see which is the source of your problem. If you have the time and money you could just replace them all, or use this method to do just the one you need and save a few bucks. The telltale sign of a blown shock is that the outer shock housing has hydraulic oil on it, often the rear shock would be very dirty as all the road grime would stick to the oil. 93egcx
Well i check everything on my car. The sound seems like it comes from somehwere really close to the actual shock. It doesnt seem to be comin from the trailing bushing. Could it be the control arm because I have aftermarket control arms on my car. Thanks for the hlep though.
