98 Accord Auto Floor Shifter - Lights???

I've had 2 98 Accords, both bought used. Both were automatic V6's. Neither of them had lights working in the automatic floor shifter. It "appears" that lights are supposed to be there, but I could be wrong. I'm not talking about the automatic tranny indicator lights in the instrument cluster, but on the floor shifter itself.

 

So, are there supposed to be lights there? If so, how do you change out the bulbs, or is there a fuse somewhere that I don't know about? This may be a petty thing, but it's something I've always been curious about.
