6-point combination wrenches

 

Dont try to use channel locks, vise-grips, or crescent wrenches

 

Also, put a shop rag under it before you loosen the bolt as gas is going to spill.

Thanks for the input.

 

Also, for those looking, the new filter came with two plastic "plugs" in the input/output holes so I put those in the old filter before removing it to prevent gas spillage. But, yeah, a rag is a good idea in case one pops out in the process.

 

Also, I don't know about where it's "supposed" to come out of that area, but I had to work it clear across the back firewall to the other side in order to get it out/in there...
