Also, for those looking, the new filter came with two plastic "plugs" in the input/output holes so I put those in the old filter before removing it to prevent gas spillage. But, yeah, a rag is a good idea in case one pops out in the process. Also, I don't know about where it's "supposed" to come out of that area, but I had to work it clear across the back firewall to the other side in order to get it out/in there...
