It's called a mini-me. There's more involved but knowing that it is called a mini-me should help you do more research.

Yes it will work and it's called a mini me swap. Me and a friend of mine did it on his car. It will give you a good 20-30hp gain at the wheels. It's a poor mans swap and gave my friend a little stout motor for his CRX that was in his budget.
