Ketnity151
how do i take the leak cover and rotor off my distributor? i need to check the ignition coil and igniter unit.. and the book says to take off the leak cover and rotor to get to em, but i cant take the rotor off without takin off the leak cover, and cant take the leak cover off without taking off the rotor... its seriously pissing me off and i just want to throw the damn thing at a brick wall.. its off a D16Z6 engine
DelSolSweetie
rotor button on that motor sucks balls you have to take off the dizzy cover then rotate the motor by hand until you see the screw that you have to unscrew... you should see an opening in the black cover and the screw will show up in there... kinda hard to explain so i hope you can figure it out
Ketnity151
yeah.. the screw was lost long ago, so it hasnt even been there, so, i tried and tried pullin it, but it just dont want to pull out
DelSolSweetie
if we are talking about the same rotor button the only thing that would be holding it on is the screw
drewkuch
might be easier just taking the 3 bolts off the distributor mounts and taking things apart that way. Just dont touch your engine timing if you do it this way.
