06 Civic rear tire wear

just found out that my car's excessive tire wear is due to defective rear upper control arms. 1st set of Bridgestone Taranzas dipped out after 33,000 miles. Took it in to shop and they blamed it on lack of tire rotation. Didn't believe em. Went to off-brand Mastercraft, kept rotated every recommended oil change. I got 44,000 miles on them before they dipped out. Gonna cost around 350.00 for the two arms and alignment plus new tires of course. Who's had the same problem and how is it being handled by yourself, dealership, and Honda?
