hey guys i have a 2001 honda accord with 99000 km on it. honda said that i should change my timing belt and water pump at 645.00!!! just wondering how hard the job is and if i can just let my local mechanic change the pump and the belt, or should i just let honda do the job to be safe.

If you have a quality mechanic it should be fine, make sure to use OEM equipment though.

yeah if ur having a mechanic do it it's going to be pricey, mainly for the labor. ur doing it pretty early though. i was told it should be done at 110k miles, ur only at 100k km, ur just over half way there.
