vtec problem?

I thought yours was tuned to kick in at 4,100.

You don't feel VTEC because the VTEC lobes are tiny and only exist on the intake side.

Feeling VTEC kick in = bad selection of parts or bad tuning.

I once had a 96 civic ex and I never felt VTEC at all....lol....its just the engine....you aren't actually supposed to feel it.....you may hear a slight difference in engine sound....but the only civics that you really notice the difference in noise are the ones with modified exhausts....

i got a stock b16 in my del sol and for the most part the internals are stock, just an intake and cat back exhaust, and vtec kicks hard and powerful

i also just picked up a 98 prelude sh that's bone stock h22a4and vtec also kicks hard and powerful on that.

i guess comparing vtec on a D to a B or H would be a bit different huh? never owned a a d series except a d15z1

If your 95 is an EX, it has the D16Z6. That's a 1.6, not 1.5... thus the "16". It's also a single cam vtec engine, whether your valve cover says it is or not.

ok for one the 95 doesnt have vtec its a 1.5 liter SOHC NON VTEC! the 96 and newer have vtec not 95

wow! somebody needs to check their facts before telling such bold lies

as for the actual problem, check to make sure it has good oil, and oil pressure because it is oil pressure driven.

also the vtec solenoid might have gone out, so check that out too.
