Valve adjustment is a piece of cake, and should be done every 30k. The lifters are what would be hydraulic. The distributor shaft seal should just be a little O-ring.

No bleeding. The hardest part of the whole ordeal is getting the tolerances correct. I always adjust toward the tighter side of things just 'cause when I shoot for the middle of the road I somehow always end up with valve tick.

Mine are kind of loud, they need a good adjustment. Haven't been adjusted since I had the car, been about 47K miles. Doubt they were adjusted from previous owner. Going to take it to a shop. As for the distributor seal or whatever, I'm having the same problem, i'm leaking oil like crazy from it.

Why, valves are incredibly easy to adjust.

It looks really complicated, and from reading what lastresort said, sounds like semi-hard work. I don't know the first thing about adjusting them.

No, it really is a piece of cake. You need a wrench, 10mm I believe, a flathead screwdriver, and a set of feeler gauges. Put cylinder #1 to TDC, adjust all 4 valves. Tolerances are available in a Haynes manual or similar. I want to say .0018" intake, .0022" exhaust. Hand turn engine 90 degrees, do next cylinder. 90 degrees, next. 90 degrees, last cylinder.
