CelticRacer
does anyone know how to remove the rear window in the del sol?
Mafdark
Yes. lower the window remove all bolts, all around the edges of the black panel and a few in the middle which hold the motor and such. pull hard. The black panel is glued so you need to pull quite hard to get it off. Do your best not to bend it, even if you do it will be fine when you bolt it back up. Mafdark
yea, you need to pull speaker panels, rear center panel, and your compartments. That should cover it though. What happen, motor die? Window break?

Mafdark
yep, pretty simple. The glue is still reall tacky after you pull it so there is no need to reseal it with anything.

CelticRacer
I wouldn't go by this advice to be honest, in the teamdelsol guide for clearing the rear window drains out it advises to put new caulk sealant on, and also when I took my rear window out, I sealed it up with sealant, then a small amount of water still came through (we tested it the next day with a hosepipe on the car), so I used silicone sealant again around the edges to make sure it was 100% water tight. Thanks seb, the rear window is back in and sealed. My question now is the front windows that don't move on each of the doors. I can't find anything online about removing them
bluebyu
Why not just lay the tint down and cut it with a straight edge on the window leaving a little all around then just tucking it into the seals.
CelticRacer
Tried it once already and fracked up a piece of tint film in the process.I read that for the teg you have to cut out the rear one that's like the one on the sol but I know there has to be a better way
Kastigir
Tint is one of those jobs that I leave to the professionals. Sure, it costs more, but the end result is soo much better.
CelticRacer
I would have agread with you months ago, but after doing it on an accord and now a del sol its really not that difficult. Oh, I would have considered going to a shop but they wouldn't do 2.5 light vis tint on any car that's not a limo

Be funny when you get pulled over and have to have it removed.

CelticRacer
Here is a write up on howto remove the front corner windows that no one seems to have except a mechanic at the dealership... 1. remove the interior door panel 2. peel back the plastic water cover 3. remove the main window by removing the mounting bolts at the bottom of the door and pull the glass out. see image below 4. remove the window seal, run channel, and glass guide. see image below 5. remove the front corner glass as shown in the image below. 6. To re-install reverse the procedure.
