JewelsAccord
I'm very cynical right now  I just left the shop where my car is being worked on and seen the damage that the previous shop caused from not doing the timing correctly...My timing cover is shreaded all to heck...The main bolt wasn't put in right causing the Harmonic pulley thing to rub and burn the plastic cover...My car was running retarted from the timing not being done correctly..The guy didn't tighten the bolts in causing the cam to run the timing all out of wack..to top it off because the cam wasn't correct I might have bent some Valves from a retarted running engine  Tech says it's possible they are ok but I still have a chance ALL because the other shop couldn't do the timing in a correct manner...What should I do guys?...Can I make a difference by calling them and b!%$# them out?...I doubt it...I prolly can't get my money back now because this shop has already touched my car...But gawd I'm MAD!!!! And to top it off..The other shop never cleaned the timing cover off when they put in my new cam seal..So, which means that old oil would heat up eventually causing it to leak back onto my new belt which could then cause the belt to break or slip off...What a bunch of idiots...Or is it because I'm female?! My car is forever :banned: from that shop...I've always wanted to work on cars and I think I'm going to head to school because I dont trust ne-one these days...I'll work on my own car for now on..ARGHHHHHHHHHH

A good set of tools and a manual will take you far. I've never done it before, but I'm currently in the process of rebuilding the head on my Talon. It's kind of fun. wannaBstuntin
I'd call the shop up and tell them you just had the timing belt replaced by them and it was done incorrectly. Then bring them the bill from the place that did it correctly.

Pballer2005
dealerships are crooks, at least most of the ones i've dealt with. one had a nice late model camaro ss. the guy said that it was a factory supercharged with a bigblock. i asked a honda dealer about a bearing job on my trans and they quoted me $1500 and said that i needed a new clutch, i told them i just had a clutch put in within the year, they tried to tell me they couldn't be to sure about it since they weren't the ones that installed it, then tried to tell me that for "only" $1800 i could just a rebuilt transmission put in and that if i didn't it would fail on me within a few thousand miles anyway. they definitely treat women differently than men. my gf took her car to a dealer to have a headlight bulb chnaged (why she didn't ask me first i don't know) and they charged her $80 for a $20 bulb and an hour of labor to help the OP, you should try to find a way to get your money back from the place that boned you. i dunno how i would go about doing this but maybe your insurance company would know how to help you.
