He bought a new timing belt but hasnt replaced it yet. The timing is right currently, its starts and idles fine. It just has loss of power when pressing the throttle like there is nothing there.Could someon please help. What type of sensor could be causing this issue if thats the case...

The only thing I can really think of.....is either a ECU problem......or maybe.....an airflow temp sensor.......but then again....I could quite possibly be wrong.....

sounds like a MAP or TPS sensor problem to me. has it been apart at all recently? if any plugs have been unplugged under the hood lately , its possible the MAP and TPS plugs were put on the wrong spots as they are the same. that or one of those 2 sensors is plain outright no good. you can test them with a mulitmeter.

We were thinking maybe the TPS.Hasnt been apart other than replacing things mentioned before. This started after down shifting, after that the car just started acting up..Already changed the ECU.Its quite puzzeling.

When you turn on the car and its in idle, can you turn the throttle body slowly and will it rev or crash

When Honda ran the dianostic test on it they said it was a fuel code...They said to start with replacing the fuel regulator. It is acting like the convertor is clogged but it doesnt have one.Its getting to much fuel.

Hatch back on the road!!!!! Put new timing belt on and that solved the problem. The belt had jumped 2 teeth. Honda said they checked the timing , but they must have not checked very well...I guess we still need to replace the fuel regulator though cuz its still pumping to much fuel, but atleast its not cutting out and spitting like it was...Thanks for all the suggestions !

They checked ignition timing, not cam timing. Unless they pull the timing belt covers, and line everything up, they won't catch it.
